DURING THE SPANISH AMERICAN WAR SHUTTLES RAN BETWEEN GARDEN CITY AND CAMP BLACK




FROM 1915 UNTIL WORLD WAR ONE, AND AFTER THE WAR, TROLLEY CARS RAN FROM
GARDEN CITY STATION TO SALISBURY PLAINS. (DURING THE WAR THEY TERMINATED AT
AVIATION FIELD NUMBER 2.) IN 1927 COUNTRY LIFE PRESS BECAME THE WESTERN TERMINUS
IN 1933 MP41s REPLACED THE TROLLEY CARS.




GARDEN CITY STATION ON AUGUST 1, 1918


IN 1917 MEADOW BROOK STATION WAS MOVED ABOUT ONE-HALF MILE EAST.
IN 1923 THIS STATION WAS RENAMED SALISBURY PLAINS AND A NEW MEADOW BROOK STATION
OPENED ON THE SITE OF THE HIGH PLATFORM STATION FOR AVIATION FIELD NO. 2.

BRICK PASSENGER STATION WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND OPENED IN 1924.
IN 1927 O.E.RY. NOS. 31, 32 AND 34 BECAME L.I.R.R. NOS. 997, 998 AND 999.


DECEMBER 23, 2001 - THE FIRE HYDRANT REMAINS - NO TRACE OF A RAILROAD EVER HAVING BEEN HERE.

WASHINGTON STREET, GARDEN CITY TROLLEY PLATFORM AND LIGHT WERE STILL THERE IN 1973


CLINTON ROAD STATION




ON JULY 28, 1917 TROLLEY CAR SERVICE WAS SUSPENDED EAST OF
CLINTON ROAD STATION AND THE THIRD RAIL DE-ENERGIZED.


ON FEBRUARY 17, 1918 THE THIRD RAIL WAS RE-ENERGIZED AND SERVICE RESUMED
TO A POINT JUST WEST OF THE HIGH PLATFORM AT AVIATION FIELD NO. 2.




ON FEBRUARY 26 THIRD RAIL WAS EXTENDED TO A POINT 300 FEET EAST OF THE HIGH PLATFORM


ON APRIL 6th WEEKEND THROUGH SERVICE TO PENN STATION BEGAN WITH TRAINS OF SEVEN MP-54's.


ON APRIL 27 "DAY AND NIGHT" TROLLEY CAR SERVICE WAS BEGUN


ON AUGUST 29 TROLLEY SIDING EAST OF CLINTON ROAD STATION WAS EXTENDED EAST AND CONNECTED WITH TROLLEY SIDING AT AVIATION FIELD NO. 2. THE MAIN TRACK BECAME AN UNLOADING TRACK FOR CAMP MILLS.


ON SEPTEMBER 20 THE TROLLEY SIDING WAS EXTENDED WEST AND CONNECTED WITH THE EAST LEG OF THE WYE AT HEMPSTEAD CROSSING. THE MAIN TRACK BECAME AN UNLOADING TRACK FOR CAMP MILLS.

AFTER WORLD WAR ONE SERVICE WAS RESTORED TO SALISBURY PLAINS

IN 1927 THE TROLLEY CARS BEGAN CONNECTING WITH TRAINS AT COUNTRY LIFE PRESS STATION
USING A NEW TRACK WHICH DEADENDED BEHIND THE PLATFORM.


IN 1933 THE TROLLEY CARS WERE REPLACED WITH MP-41 MULTIPLE UNIT CARS.
AT FIRST TRAINS RAN WITH A SINGLE CAR. LATER TWO CARS WERE RUN.

TO PLAIN EDGE AND PASSENGER SERVICE STILL RAN TO SALISBURY (PLAINS)

FROM 1927 UNTIL 1939 THE SOUTHEAST LEG OF THE WYE DEADENDED BEHIND THE PLATFORM.
IN 1939 HC TOWER AND INTERLOCKING WERE REPLACED AND THIS TRACK WAS CONNECTED TO THE
